T-Shirts Update – Cathy Rogers
Shirts ordered 10/28. Delivery expected by
December 1.
New Point Groups
Steep Incline will not meet for the
remainder of the year due to Jay Johnston’s absence for several
weeks and the holiday schedule.
Discussion regarding interest from youth
regarding Steep Incline.
Melissa stated
that she felt like it was great with a balance of the bible
study with fun at night but that too make it more study was just
too much. It would be great to have a more serious and focused
Outpost.
Rachel felt it
may just be too intense, beyond what their group is ready for.
As for offering only for Jr & Srs in High School, they are so
busy with college applications, pt jobs, classes, etc., and it
was so hard to add that in the schedule.
Youth Room
Base board was placed two weeks ago with
youth & adult help. The dividers were assembled only to realize
they are too tall. Work is still continuing. Please contact
Harry Anderson to find out day/time he will be there working to
assist. It’s going to take work getting things ready so we can
once again break into our Jr & Sr High groups.
Note added 11/11 –
A work crew will be meeting to work on the portable Sat. Nov 15
at 8 am.
Holiday Mission Project:
Suggestions were made regarding adopting an
angel from the angel tree and visiting at a nursing home then
opened for suggestions.
It was suggested that the residents of the
nursing home loved having their doors decorated for the
holiday. It was a unanimous vote. Cathy will contact CC Young
and homes closer to AUMC to arrange.
It was decided to promote bringing gently
used or new donated Christmas decorations to the youth room by
Dec 7 and act in mission on the morning of Dec 14 during
Outpost.
Christmas Party
Suggested time proposed for Sunday night
Dec 14 before or after the Christmas Pageant. Youth liked
having it in the new room and after the Christmas Pageant,
7-8:30pm with White Elephant Gift Exchange.
Holiday in the Park –
Trip proposed and accepted for Dec 7. Time
decided by those in attendance as 12:45pm – 8pm . Confirmation
Class will be joining us. Cost of tickets $19.99 and this year
offering an optional meal ticket with choice of chicken fingers
or cheeseburger w/ fries and a drink for $8. This assures for
some parents that their child will have more than just the
sugary snacks.
Youth Led Worship
February 1 at 8:45 and 11am
Super Bowl Sunday AND Souper Bowl Sunday.
Sr. High President Rachel Stanley has
accepted the offer to deliver a sermon of approximately 20 min.
Planning team is needed and will meet on
Sunday Jan 4 & 18 at 4pm.
Volunteers currently for planning team are:
Steven Carlisle, Caitlyn Elliot, Christian Mims and Rachel
Stanley.
Rehearsals scheduled for Sunday, Jan 25
5:30 – 7:30 and Saturday, Jan 31 4pm until done.
